Flexibility is becoming a core infrastructure need

The NESO Clean Flexibility Roadmap targets a 4-5x increase in flex capacity by 2030, making behind-the-meter assets critical to the system

Control of demand is now strategic

Ofgem reforms on connections and digital infrastructure signal that coordinated, data-rich demand (behind the meter) is as critical as generation

Mandatory Half Hour Settlement (MHHS) is changing the retail energy market landscape

geo helps energy retailers to address the challenges that these changes present and engage their customers with Time of Use and dynamic tariffs, making pricing visible and easy to understand with tips & hints to help consumers make smart choices

Mandatory Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) is a shift from using industry estimates to using actual 30-minute smart meter data to balance the energy grid. By recording exactly when energy is used, rather than just how much, suppliers can bill more accurately and buy energy more efficiently. This reduces waste, lowers industry costs, and allows for smarter tariffs that reward consumers for using energy when it’s cheapest

Time Of Use (ToU) Prices change throughout the day (e.g., cheap overnight for EV charging, expensive between 4 pm–7 pm)

Agile/dynamic: Prices can change every 30 minutes based on wholesale costs

Consumers could even be paid to use electricity when there’s a surplus

Demand flexibility services

As demand flexibility becomes a core system requirement, its value will only be realised through mass participation from households.

geo’s user research demonstrates that engagement depends on clear, simple education, and intuitive gamification of flexibility events – capabilities that SeeZero is uniquely positioned to deliver at scale.
